Starting March 5, 2024, HubSpot is unveiling a new pricing model, which will roll out a seats-based pricing model to all Hubs and subscription tiers - Free, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise.

With this change, HubSpot will remove seat minimums for Sales Hub and Service Hub and introduce the Core Seat and View-Only Seat.

It's important to note that existing customers won't be immediately affected.

In an FAQ document introducing the new pricing model, HubSpot said this about the new changes: “We're introducing an updated seats-based pricing model. With our new pricing model, customers can expect to pay only as they grow with a flexible pricing model that removes Sales and Service Seat minimums and supports executive insights with the new View-Only Seat. Moreover, customers will be able to connect their entire team to a shared experience through access to HubSpot's Smart CRM with the new Core Seat.”

Seat Types and Their Capabilities

Core Seat:
  • Provides edit access to subscribed features.
  • A set number of included core seats come with each Hub purchase.
  • Additional core seats are available for purchase as needed.
  • Does not provide access to Sales and Service.
View-Only Seat:
  • Provided free and unlimited.
  • Designed for users needing data and report access without edit capabilities, such as C-Suite and Executive level managers.
Sales + Service Seats:
  • For direct interaction with prospects and customers.
  • Offers additional functionality specific to sales and service representatives.

What These Changes Mean for Existing Customers

  • Existing customers will not experience an immediate impact, which HubSpot says will ensure a "fair legacy plan and a generous timeline" for adapting to the new model.
  • The first auto-renewal post-migration will see a maximum price increase of 5%, providing a gradual transition.

The new pricing model will only be available to new customers on March 5, 2024. The option for existing customers to move to the new pricing model will only be available as part of HubSpot's phased migration approach - which HubSpot says will begin later this year and will take several months, likely extending into 2025.

As a result, the price of all existing customer's current subscriptions will not be impacted by the pricing change in the short term. They'll remain on their current pricing model at this time.

HubSpot will share additional details on migration timelines with existing customers in March 2024.

What These Changes Mean for New Customers

  • New customers starting from March 5, 2024, will benefit from the removal of base fees and seat minimums, allowing them to customize their subscriptions with ease.
  • The new core seat and unlimited view-only seats provide a simplified and flexible buying process, aligning pricing with the specific needs of your business and allowing you to scale up flexibly and adapt your HubSpot subscription as you expand.
